The everlasting kinship of affection.

Family: it’s the place where you come home, but sometimes it’s also the place you want to run away from. Sometimes there is cozyness,
connection and love, and sometimes there is misery. It can be a place of support, warmth, or pain.

In this exhibition, we invite you to reflect on the many representations around the theme of ‘family’, biologically or chosen. From the parent who is present to the annoying brother who always fools you. From the cozy chaos at the kitchen table to the silence after an immense loss. Sometimes family strengthen us, sometimes we have to let go.
In this exhibition we shed light on ‘family’, and everything that comes with it in artistic form: the joy, the tragedy and the loss. Because family is always a part of us, thicker than water — even when the bond breaks.

The exhibition will feature work by Siu Lin Ho, Efrat Zehavi, Kitty van Straaten, Paulus de Groot, Saskia Westerhof, Nicky van der Hoeven, Anuja Hoogstad, Johanneke van Nus, Leffert Hermans, John Kegreisz en Remco Roggeveen.
