DISCOVER, FLY, LAND
January 26 – March 30, 2018
Opening: Friday, January 26, 5 p.m
In the new exhibition: ‘discover, fly, land’ at Galerie Herenplaats, we show work by three special Outsider artists who are busy depicting their living environment in their own unique way.
Grietje Killian shapes her experiences in an impulsive and accidental way. Impressions gained in everyday encounters take shape in her work in mixed media. Cut, paste, glue and sign and paint again; this creates a new image every time.
Markus Meurer plays with found rubbish and creates his own ‘art trouvè’. His lifeworld consists of creating animistic creatures, often hybrids, somewhere between man, animal and machine. For this he uses waste material that he assembles in a free way.
Kay Hessels experiences the complexity of the city as a chaotic labyrinth. He draws his sheets full of details, which, if you look closely, always lead to a new street or square. It is a maze in which there is always a way out.
PS. Saturday, March 3, 2018 Museumnacht010 from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am with a performance by the “Fanfare for progressive music”.
