In the summer of 2017, the Nieuwe Binnenweg was dominated by a chewing gum art project. Various artists from Herenplaats have enjoyed participating in this for 2 weeks. It was an initiative of Erica Sonneveld and shopkeepers from the Nieuwe Binnenweg. Sticky chewing gums on the street have been transformed into mini works of art with special markers. This project is based on the project of Ben Wilson, who has achieved international fame with his chewing gum artwork.
